BRAINTREE — A spa that reminds you of an underground oasis has founds its way into Braintree and wants to unearth your natural beauty.
Stone Lux Med Spa, located at 214 Quincy Ave. in Braintree, “isn’t your average” beauty experience.
The owner, a Brockton resident, wanted to create a one-of-a-kind experience, from the décor to the vibes and services offered at Stone Lux.
Society may have differing opinions when it comes to elevating your appearance with procedures but Francelina Resende says otherwise.
“Beauty is not parallel, it’s not one size fits all. If people want to enhance their beauty to feel better about their selves, I 100% support it. We only have one life to live,” Resende said.

At the med spa, there are several services clients can choose from including, Botox injections, lip fillers, vitamin injections, weight loss aids, facials and IV hydration.

How the business started
Resende began her career after becoming a registered nurse during COVID-19, which completely burnt her out and she was itching to start something new.
At the time, she was working in California as a travel nurse, living with her fiancé and business partner and their children.
The idea of switching to the beauty aspect of nursing seemed like a dream come true.
Nursing is a strenuous job especially when it comes to your physical, emotional and mental well-being, Resende said.

A quick turn of events
“Once I started taking my courses, I fell in love and became obsessed with the aesthetic industry. I knew working in the ICU was the first step that got me through the door, but I knew I wouldn’t stay there forever. I always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur,” Resende said.
The young nurse grinded her way to the top and followed her new aspirations and with the support of family and friends, she was able to achieve her dreams.
Resende suffered several tragedies in life, including her brother dying six years ago, but it made her want to invest time and effort into something that will flourish.
As a first-generation Cape Verdean American Resende is living “the American dream” but in her own way.
“The American dream right now is so hard even as a working nurse. Being with my fiancé for almost twenty years and meeting at BHS and having kids young, we were expected to fail statistically speaking, but we always had such big dreams and never stopped dreaming,” Resende said.
One of the best lessons the spa owner learned on her journey is that “you’re responsible for your failures and successes. There’s no one looking over your shoulder to make sure you’re hustling.”
