Lauren Browning, the 36-year-old owner of Shear Perfection Salon and Spa, loves being a master cosmetologist because it allows her to blend her creativity with her passion for helping others feel confident and beautiful.

“Every day, I have the opportunity to transform not just appearances but also the way people perceive themselves. Building relationships with clients and understanding their unique styles and needs is incredibly rewarding,” Browning said. “Owning a salon is not just about hair and beauty; it’s about creating a sanctuary where clients feel valued and empowered. We are a full-service salon and spa, [including] hair, facials, waxing, head spa treatments, body contouring, HIFU vaginal rejuvenation, Botox and fillers — anything beauty.”

The Valley-born LaGrange native has been a master cosmetologist for 17 years — owner of Shear Perfection for 13 — and credits her associate’s degree in business and advanced training in cosmetology for making her passion possible.

For the past six months, Browning has also volunteered at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice as a trained grief trauma and end-of-life counselor, where she makes a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families during a “profoundly sensitive time.”

“Being present with individuals as they navigate the end of life is a deeply rewarding experience that fosters connection, compassion and understanding. I cherish the opportunity to provide comfort, share stories and create lasting memories, all while honoring the dignity of each person. This work enriches my life, deepens my empathy and reinforces my belief in the importance of love and support in every stage of life,” Browning said.

When not working or volunteering, she loves spending time with her family. Browning married her “high school sweetheart” in 2007, and they have two sons who are going into the seventh and 12th grades. Browning enjoys cheering for her boys on the soccer field and is president of the LaGrange High School Boys Soccer Club.
