Prime Day might be over but as The Cut’s resident Korean beauty writer I’m still here to give you the scoop on the best Korean beauty products to add to your cart. I just came back from a two-week trip to the motherland, so I have a fresh perspective and some more insider knowledge about what’s actually worth a second look.

This time, we’re doing things a little differently — I’m going to explain each step in a fully stocked skin-care stash and share a few top-tier K-beauty products that are in that category. (Mind you, you absolutely do not and should not perform all of these steps every single day. I’ll explain more later.) The best part is that most are still on sale right now. Keep scrolling for the best deals on Korean serums, Korean face masks, Korean sunscreens, and more. Consider it an early holiday gift for your soon-to-be-glowing skin.

For every other deal still on sale, head on over to our list of best Amazon Prime Day deals.

If you want to skip all these steps, I don’t blame you. These are the three products I highly recommend you do incorporate into your routine, though.

If there is one thing you take away from this article, let it be that everyone should be double-cleansing. In other words, go in with an oil cleanser before your water-based cleanser. Not only do oil cleansers make breaking down tough waterproof makeup and sunscreen a breeze, but they also get all of the gunk out of your pores — my nose is never as smooth as when I’m oil-cleansing regularly. Even if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you shouldn’t fear the products here; all of them emulsify beautifully and wash down the drain, so there’s no greasy residue left behind.

After getting the hard stuff off with your oil cleanser, you can use a water-based one to make sure you get every last bit of whatever landed on your skin that day off. Also, if you’re sitting here saying, “Carol, I just don’t have it in me to cleanse twice every night,” I have a cheat code here for you: The Face Shop’s new cleanser dispenses both kinds of formulas at once, so you can perform the two steps at the same time.

Unless you have really tough skin, you probably don’t need to be exfoliating every single day. In fact, doing so too much and too often can damage your skin barrier, leading to dryness, redness, and irritation. However, in the right dose, it’ll help fight acne, hyperpigmentation, and texture for a smoother, brighter complexion. I picked a few that are particularly user-friendly.

Unlike the harsh toners we grew up using in the States, South Korea’s versions exist to hydrate your skin while balancing its pH. I don’t think it’s a completely necessary step, but your skin will feel more deeply moisturized. Many Korean women use toner pads in particular before makeup to ensure that their faces are fully charged with hydration, allowing makeup to go on that much smoother.

You can think of essences as the lightweight version of a serum — they often have a more watery texture, but they still have concentrated formulas that pack a punch. Again, you don’t have to use one every day, but they’re especially helpful if you have dehydrated skin that could use all the moisture it can get. Editors and our readers adore the CosRx snail-mucin essence, which is a whopping 24 percent off right now.

My hot take of the day is that serums and ampoules, while nice if you’re targeting a specific concern like dryness, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines, aren’t absolutely necessary. However, this category is wonderful in that it delivers a high concentration of active ingredients to your skin, so it can be effective at treating those issues. Here are a few favorites.

d'Alba Piedmont Italian White Truffle First Spray Serum

Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum

I heard my queen Michelle Yeoh uses sheet masks daily, but I don’t think everyone needs to go that far. However, if you’re taking a long flight, recovering from a trip, or preparing for an event, there’s nothing like a Korean face mask to perk your skin right up — Lindsay Peoples, our editor-in-chief, and Asia Milia Ware, our beauty editor, especially swear by the Mediheal one. For what it’s worth, both have incredible skin.

Here me out! I know these aren’t the most popular brands or products here (yet), but they’re beloved in South Korea for good reason. The Dr. Reju-All PDRN cream was sold out in virtually every pharmacy I went to last month, so you bet it’s in my Amazon cart right now — people are claiming to see a difference in the quality of their skin overnight, and I want to see what it’s all about. The Centallian cream is a new favorite of mine, but it’s been a best seller in Korea for years. I love it because it almost feels like a gel moisturizer but hydrates like a thicker cream. And the famous Dominas cream features niacinamide and tranexamic acid to fade years-old dark spots.

I know that eye cream feels unnecessary sometimes, but the skin around your eyes is so thin that it’s especially vulnerable to sun and environmental damage. If you also want to slow down the effects of time, try paying a little extra attention to the eye area.

Sunscreen isn’t the only way to prevent sun damage, but it is one of the easiest and most reliable methods. That’s why I’m always gently scolding everyone around me who hasn’t made it part of their morning routine. The Round Lab one in particular is a best seller in South Korea.

After doing all of that, it would be a shame to leave out your lips.

Just like with skin care, Korean brands have to continuously churn out incredible formulas to compete in an overflowing market. The Colorgram tint is budget-friendly, gives a glassy glow, and lasts much longer than expected.
